MotoGP BBQ Dinner Did you enjoy the B-B-Q Dinner at MotoGP?

A HUGE thank you goes out to Steve Ynzunza. Steve did the research and leg work to ensure that USARM members at MotoGP had a terrific BBQ on Saturday evening.

Steve's efforts typify his involvement and commitment to USARM and its members.

Thanks Steve!

Robert B. Williams, Jr. Robert B. Williams, Jr., 64, passed away June 17, 2008 in Salinas California. Williams (aka Stryder, Burner, Will, or Worf) drove transporters for World Speed for over 10 years and logged over 3 million miles in his trucking career. When he was on the road, Will could be found on the basketball courts near the tracks during the day and in the Karaoke lounges in the evening.

Williams attended Rutgers University before deciding on a career in trucking and eventually racing, possibly making him the best educated truck driver in the paddock. He was also a master of chess and was rarely beaten by anyone on the team. He spent his time off from World Speed working as an SCCA, NASA, or USARM corner worker, and he knew just about every stat on every San Francisco Region driver from the early 70's until today.

Williams imparted a lot of interesting racing advice to World Speed drivers over the years, but by far his most lasting words of racing wisdom are, "don't rush the attrition otherwise you'll become a part of it."

Comments from those who knew him:

Man, I'm really bummed to hear this. Though I had not seen him in a while, I could always count on an interesting conversation when I ran into him at the track. I still remember the time he came down to my shop to pick up an FM. I had a wall full of photos and posters of race cars at that time. He proceeded to tell me what each car was, who the driver was, what track and race the photo was from and who won the race! And I bet he was right. He was there for a couple of hours, he wouldn't leave until he identified each one. My condolences to all who knew him, I'm sure he will be missed.

So sorry to here about Will. I cannot even guess when I first met him probably 20+ years ago. I always enjoyed hearing his "outlook" on things. His was probably a much healthier take on life than most have.

Oh Man That Is Very Sad News !!!! I will miss Will !!! He also knew every R&B, Motown, Rock & Roll, Blues, Jazz Song and who played on what at the time that the tune was written and recorded. Will was a walking fountain of knowledge . . . That man surprised me more than once with his laid back, slow walking, calm and cool demeanor . . . You Will Be Missed Will !!!!!
