Jackie Zeigler - USARM Grid Editor
Greetings USARM Members!

First let me apologize for the GRID taking so long in getting out to all of the loyal USARM members. I have taken over the honor of being editor and hoping I can fill the shoes of my predecessor and past Editor, Kati James. Kati has done a wonderful job in editing the GRID and I have a long way to go. I will work diligently to get the GRID out monthly from now on. I would like to hear from the members what you would like to see printed. Is there something you feel we are missing? If anyone would like to contribute pictures or articles, send me an email.

Thanks, Jackie Zeigler
Grid Editor

MotoGP is Here MotoGP is Here!!!

Even though the MotoGP application states May 11th, Ted will be accepting them until the list is full. Do not wait too long; there might not be a spot left. There is a link on the website for questions regarding questions about MotoGP or if they want to know if there are still positions open. The emails go to Ted Kuwada and it takes him time to transfer the information from the applications to various spreadsheets. Let's try not to overwhelm Ted this year and make it a little smoother.

Get Your Applications in SOON!!

USARM BANQUET
March 25, 2007

Twenty-eight attendees had a great time, enjoyed really good food and company and had fun with the drawings...especially the table that "cleaned" up! Bruce Brunner also read a message from President Jan Weaver…..Betty Thomas (Photographer)

Steve Ynzunza did a wonderful job of hosting the banquet, giving praise to all the USARM workers for a great job this past year. After enjoying a lovely meal, Steve continued on with the festivities; with his two lovely assistants Shelley Ulry and her sister Jody Turner helping out. Awards were given out, followed by raffle prizes. Ted tried to win his own prize several times, but it finally escaped him. The women "rocked" on the two driving prizes. Way to go girls. Too quickly the evening ended and we parted ways until next time. - Editor

Congratulations to all the award winners from last year. It was fun "hiding" the winners from some of the folks especially Rusty who joined the board this year. We couldn't tell him who was getting the awards because HE was one of the winners. Rusty won the Rookie of the year award! The same thing happened with the On Course worker award that went to Greg Cupp who just recently joined our USARM Board. Congratulations to you both!

The Martin Illgen Worker of the year award went to Rene Pedroza. Rene has served the club as a Turn Marshall, flagger, communicator, equipment, Moto-GP committee member and just whatever you need him to do. Every time there is something that needs to be done Rene is one of the first people to step up and ask what he can do to help! Congratulations Rene!

I was thrilled to hear that Sandy Silviera was the winner of the Jim Thurston Communicator of the year. I knew Jim quite well and I know he would be proud to know Sandy is carrying on the talent and the skills that made Jim stand out as a great communicator.

Special Congratulations go to Phil Guerrero for the Off Course Worker of the Year. That was an easy and unanimous vote to present him with this award this year.

And the Stan Pulos Memorial "Good Guy" award that went to our very own Guy Aronson. Do you know Guy yet? I hope you get to chance to meet him because he truly is a "Good Guy" who is constantly helping our club, and helping our members in whatever way he can. As soon as you meet him you'll know why he got the award. Congratulations Your Majesty! (I've got the pictures!)

A special congratulations to Ron Cowen who received a Lifetime Achievement award. Ron has not only been an active member of our club but he served on our USARM board for several years. Ron was quite an asset to the club during those years as our financial director and helped ensure our financial stability and worked to help our club mature. He is a tremendous asset to our club not only with his insight but also his dedication and coordination in organizing some of our club races outside of our home tracks. Congratulations Ron!

All of these awards are very well deserved. Thank you all for your commitment to make our club such a success.

See you at the races!
Jan
