Membership Presentation/Issues
Carl Sloan had some suggestions regarding the major awards that USARM presents at the Awards Banquet. He was looking to have the members more involved in the selection of the people receiving the awards. He presented the idea of having the BOD present candidates for each award and the membership would vote for who they felt should receive each award. Jim Short and Kati James both stated that they thought a similar idea had come up before. Jim Short stated that the process could become very cumbersome and also had some discussion regarding having something put into the Grid. Jerry Huff presented the idea of members presenting names of people with a short summary on why a certain member shouldbe considered for an award and then the BOD would review the the nominations and choose a person for each award. Kati James is going to check the website for the past award information. The subject of awards is going to be put on next months agenda. |

For those of our members who travel and camp at Laguna Seca for USARM events, two (2) designated camping areas have been established with Monterey County Parks Dept & Laguna Seca.
If you plan to work a USARM event in the future, you may use one of these camping areas free of charge. The 2 campsite numbers are 107 and 108. For the winter months, USARM camping can be arranged behind the turn 11 grandstands, as the Park campground area is closed
It is on a first come first serve basis but if there are more than 2 USARM members who are camping, arrangements can be made to ensure camping for the events that you are working.
Please contact the person in charge of the USARM event to make sure you have your camping spot.
MOTOGP APPLLICATION IS INCLUDED!!
James Joseph Dormandy
Born April 18, 2006 9:36 pm
5 lbs. 12 oz
19 3/4 inches Tall
Here is the New Release sent out by Grampy Bellina . . . .
Latest news from the track
"JJ Dormandy Has just cleared Tech". The team won't say . . . but word is there were a couple of things out of tolerance. Hoping for word later on that! JJ was rushed Home today, Sunday the 23rd, hoping to make the starting grid for lunch. Word was he was 1st in line. Sorry Garry.
Team manager Shelane was keeping things under wraps . . . More on that later (maybe not) JJ was happy to be home where he thinks he will finally be in charge. Good luck on that one JJ. Plans were not settled as of press time but this reporter has word a NAP was in the plans!!! Then we hear that team member Garry, also known as Dad, was being sent out for a Bacon burger with mushrooms and country fries was being discussed. The last word this reporter had was the Spit crew was that Grandma and Grampy and Auntie Mary were going to get everyone settled and leave the new Team alone to rest and catch their breath before it all starts again in 3 hrs.
Good luck Mom and Dad and JJ!

Dear USARM Members,
We have awards which are named in honor of past members. Some of these honored past members, are not known by the majority of our current membership.
The topic of the awards seemed to evolve into four areas:
(a)Rename the awards with honored members more recently known in USARM
(b) Not associating the awards with an individuals name
(c) Leaving things as they are
(d) Any other option that the members would like considered.
Please send your opinions to any member of the Board of Directors or email the USARM BoD at: directors@usarm.org with your thoughts and opinions on this matter.
(These options are not presented in any particular order.)
Sincerely,
Dave Jansen
USARM Director |
