MotoGP 2008 U.S. MotoGP at Laguna Seca

INFO FOR NEW WORKERS

This is something that explains the requirements and commitment we need from you if you are going to work the Race.

You will have to work all day, minimum of Saturday and Sunday and working Friday would be highly suggested to get some "on track" training before things get serious on the weekend.

You MUST attend the Morning Meeting and "sign in". When you sign in you will then know your assignment for the day. You MUST work your assigned position all day unless told other wise by the Tower or your Turn Marshal. Failure to show up at your assigned position or leaving your position without permission, will result in your credentials being pulled and you will be asked to leave the Track. If you signed up to get a free ticket and free camping and are not serious about working the race , let us know now so we can take your name off the list. We had a problem last year of people walking off their stations without permission to spectate and that will not be tolerated this year.

You will be out at a turn all day from early in the morning until the last bike is off course, usually 5-6 pm. You get the best seat in the house, but you can't do the spectator things like walking around during the day. Lunches are delivered to the stations.

You will be assigned a position, probably a secondary flagging position with an experienced flagger, a handler position, who picks up crashed bikes and moves them to a safe location, or a fire position, someone who carries a fire extinguisher to an incident and puts out a fire if needed.

We won't put you out there by yourself, you will be working with an experienced worker(s) who will hopefully train you and get you up to speed on what we do out there.

You will also need to be dressed in WHITE. (corner workers wear white on track). White pants and shirt. Shoes, gloves and hats can be any color. You will be issued an FIM vest to wear on track.

If you feel that you can fulfill these requirements and are committed to working the Race, the you should go ahead and submit an application to work the MotoGP event.
